General Body Meeting
            The General Body meeting of the Association was held at ANGRAU, Hyderabad on Dec. 21, 2010 at 1800 hrs. The House approved the audit report and annual report presented by the Secretary for year 2009-10. House also approved the proposal for holding next national seminars during 2011 at BCKV, Mohanpur WB. The GB nominated following Honorary Fellows of Association of Agrometeorologists (HFAAM). These are;

• Dr. P. D. Mistry
• Prof P.S.N. Sastry
• Dr. S. Venkatarama
• Shri B. V. Ramanarao
• Dr. A.M. Shekh

Executive Council
            During the year under report the EC communicated many a times through email for holding GB meeting at Hyderabad, appointing Returning Officer for holding election of new EC members. EC meeting was held at Hyderabad in which EC approved the awardees of Dr P.D. Mistry award and Prof P.S.N. Sastry award..

Enrollment of Members
             During the year 2010-2011, 39-life members were enrolled with Association. Thus the total number of life memberships increased up to 632 by the end of March 2011. A total of 64 annual members were enrolled during the year 2010.

Organization of seminar
           No seminar was held during the year.

Financial Status

As per audit report during the year 2010-2011 total income was Rs 1,62,799/- and the total expenditure was Rs. 1,99,044/-giving deficit of Rs.36,205/-. A sum of Rs. 13,56,308/- has been kept as fixed deposit with Central Bank of India which include FD for awards and memorial lecture.

Best Thesis Award

No nomination was received For “Dr. P D Mistry award for the best Ph.D thesis in Agricultural Meteorology” for year 2010.
For Prof P S N Sastry award for best M.Sc. thesis in Agricultural Meteorology”, two theses were received. The thesis by Mr Rajeev Ranjan of GBPUAT, Pantnagar was recommended for the award.
Awards and certificates to the recipient will be presented to them during next GB meeting..

Publication of Journal of Agrometeorology

Journal of Agrometeorology is published twice in a year appearing in June and December. The journal is well appreciated by National and International organizations. It is being indexed by CAB International, Current contents, INSDOC and others indexing agencies. During year 2010, 74 papers were received, 38 papers were published /accepted, 27 papers were rejected and rests are under the process of revision. It is a matter great pleasure that the Journal is rated by NAAS as 6.4 which is one of the best in Indian Journals.
